  • Nero AE of Akko-Ptolemais. Founding father/priest ploughing with oxen, 4 vexillia inscribed III, VI, X, XI

Example of a provincial coin to make reference to Legionary veterens settled in the colony. Mainly from Spain and the East of the Empire.

In addition to these local coins, the big coin series of
    1) Marc Antony covering legions I-XXIII, of
    2) Septimius Severus for the legions supporting his claim to the throne, and
    3) of Gallienus to honor the Legions sending detachments to his field army
cover most Roman legions known to us.
